Police Identify Pedestrian Hit, Killed In Manassas Crash

Police have identified the man who died on Tuesday after he was hit by an SUV near Balls Ford Road in Manassas.

MANASSAS, VA — Police have identified the pedestrian who was hit by an SUV and died in Manassas on Tuesday. Police identified Venkata Krishna Mohan Rao Suri as the pedestrian. He is a 63-year-old man from Santa Clara, California.

The driver of the SUV, a 39-year-old woman from Cherry Valley, New York, stayed at the scene of the crash. Police do not believe speed, alcohol, or drugs caused her to collide with the pedestrian.

The crash occurred around 8 p.m. on Tuesday near the intersection of Balls Ford Road and Coppermine Drive, police said.

A 2022 GMC Terrain was travelling eastbound on Balls Ford Road when it struck the pedestrian. Authorities said the pedestrian was walking with traffic in the road.

The driver provided first aid to the man until first responders arrived, according to the police report. EMS personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.
