Police Impersonator Arrested In Manassas: Police

A man was arrested for pretending to be a cop while trying to get a family member's vehicle released from a Manassas towing lot: PWC Police.

MANASSAS, VA—A man was arrested Sunday for pretending to be a cop while trying to get a family member's vehicle released from DTR Towing at 10462 Colonel Court, according to Prince William County Police. Patrick Thomas Dunn, 60, of the 10800 block of Gambril Drive, was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Police had been investigating a March 16 incident at the facility. A female tried recover a vehicle that had been towed to the lot. Dunn called the tow truck company, claimed to be a Prince William County Police officer, and demanded the vehicle be immediately released.

The female then became disorderly, after which Manassas City Police responded before handing matters over to PWC Police, who obtained a warrant for Dunn's arrest.
