Police: Juvenile Tried To Get Into Woman's Car

He's been charged with attempted robbery, say Prince William County police.

The Prince William County police arrested a 14-year-old boy on Tuesday night after he allegedly tried to rob a Manassas woman as she was getting out of her car.

The boy has been charged with attempted robbery, and he’s being held at a juvenile detention facility, the police said. His next date in court is pending.

The police responded at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday to the report of a robbery in the 10900 block of Coverstone Drive in the Manassas area, according to a police report. The woman, 29, told police that after parking her vehicle, she was approached by an unknown male suspect who tried to get into her car.

The suspect demanded property and money from the victim before eventually fleeing on foot, the police said. No property was taken and no injuries were reported.

The responding officers located the suspect, identified as a juvenile who matched the description provided by the victim. Following the investigation, the police said, the juvenile was connected to the incident and subsequently arrested.
