Police: Man, 18, Attacks Two With Hammer

The victims suffered serious injuries, according to Manassas City Police. Suspect arrested after foot pursuit in Manassas Park.

A man in custody in Manassas is accused of attacked two people with a hammer, according to Manassas City Police.

Edwaurdo J. Blandin Jr., 18, of Manassas, is charged with two counts of aggravated malicious wounding.

At 2:40 p.m. Friday, police were called to the area of the 8500 block of King Carter Street regarding a report of malicious wounding.

“Upon arrival, officers discovered that a male subject had struck one adult female victim and one adult male victim with a hammer before fleeing on foot,” according to Adrienne Helms, a police spokesperson.

The victims sustained serious injuries and were transported to a nearby medical facility.

Police were able to identify Blandin as the suspect. He was arrested after a foot pursuit by the City of Manassas Park Police in the 9000 block of New Britain Circle
