Police: Martial Arts Instructor Injured Young Student

Felony child abuse alleged after 5-year-old suffers serious injuries, according to Prince William County Police.

An instructor at a martial arts studio in Bristow is facing a child abuse charge after seriously injuring a 5-year-old student, according to Prince William County Police.

Justin Patrick Branick, 21, of the 10000 block of Umbrella Pl in Nokesville, is charged with felony child abuse.

Branick works at the Tiger Martial Arts Academy at 10306 Bristow Center Drive.

On Monday, Branick allegedly grabbed the student by the ankle and threw the boy over his shoulder and onto the ground, causing the victim to lose consciousness, according to police.

A co-worker alerted police and Branick was charged.

Detectives notified the family who then responded to a local hospital where the victim was treated for serious injuries.
