Prescription Drug Take-Back Event Planned In Prince William Co.

The prescription drug take-back day is planned Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at several locations throughout Prince William County.

MANASSAS, VA — The Prince William County Police Department and the Manassas City Police Department will team up with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and other community groups to provide residents with a safe and legal way to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications.

The prescription drug take-back day is planned Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center, Novant Health UVA Health System Haymarket Medical Center or Sentara Lake Ridge Medical Center.

Prescription and over-the-counter solid-dosage medications (i.e. tablets and capsules) will be accepted. Intravenous solutions, injectables and needles will not be accepted. Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine will also not be accepted during the event.
