Prince William Restaurant Inspections: 3 Locations Cited
The Prince William Health District's recent restaurant inspections included a location that was not approved to sell food to the public.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Officials from the Prince William Health District inspected multiple restaurants across the region from Aug. 15 to Aug. 31. Inspectors noted several violations at a pre-opening inspection in Manassas.
Though some coronavirus restrictions are returning around the state, health inspectors are returning to conduct many restaurant inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.

Violations at restaurants typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department also performs a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.
For every observed violation, the inspector provides a specific corrective action that can be completed to rectify the violation. Sometimes these are simple, and violations can be corrected during the course of the inspection.

- Provide lockers, hooks or suitable facilities for the storage or employee belongings.
- Install a splashguard between the 3-compartment sink right side drain board and the handwashing sink.
- Provide trash containers at all handwashing sink stations
- Relocate the warewashing handwashing area soap and paper towel dispenser to the handwashing sink location
- Provide at least 10 foot candles (108 lux) intensity at 30 inches above the floor in all areas of the walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer.
- Install self-closing devices at the toilet rooms’ doors
- Relocate the male toilet room paper towels dispenser to the handwashing sink area.
