Prince William Turkey Trot To Award Fastest And Best Costume

MANASSAS, VA — The deadline for making a decision on a Thanksgiving Day race is rapidly approaching. Wednesday, Nov. 20 is the deadline for guaranteeing a t-shirt size for the 6th annual Prince William Turkey Trot in Manassas. And online registration for the race ends Nov. 24.

The starter’s gun goes off at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 28 for the 5K and at 9:30 a.m. for the Mashed Potato Mile. Both races start at the Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center, 9100 Freedom Center Blvd., Manassas, VA 20100.

Runners can pick up their packets at The Running Store, 7343 Atlas Walk Way, Gainesville VA 20155 on Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. or on Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The top five male and female overall finishers will receive a gift card from The Running Store — $100/$75/$50/$25/$25. Awards also will be given to the top three finishers in each age group, which are separated in five-year increments.

For runners not interested in speed, race organizers also will be handing out awards to runners wearing the best costume. In addition, 100 pumpkin pie Duck Donuts will be randomly given to 100 race participants.
