PWC Man Facing Federal Weapons Charge Posted Photos Of Drugs, Weapons On IG: Investigators

WOODBRIDGE, VA – A Manassas Park man under investigation for murder has been charged with possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Investigators included pictures from the man’s Instagram account in their court affidavit.

Marlon Osvaldo Bautista, who prosecutors told Patch remains under investigation over a 2025 shooting death, was arrested on Sept. 14 after a months-long investigation, according to an affidavit by an investigator with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

As part of their investigation, detectives obtained a warrant to search Bautista’s Instagram accounts. According to the affidavit, the accounts included pictures of Bautista holding weapons, as well as photos of what appear to be bags of pills, large quantities of cash, what look like expensive watches and his distinctive car, a white Dodge Challenger. One image of the car's interior came with the message “iykyk best in the city call my bluff” with an emoji investigators say represents fentanyl.

The affidavit says that Fairfax County detectives bought fentanyl from Bautista in February 2026 and watched several other hand-to-hand transactions from his car in what they say appear to be other drug sales.

In May 2026, officers arrested Bautista in his car, where they say they found a pistol like one depicted on his Instagram account. According to the affidavit, officers also found about 29 grams of fentanyl and about $200.

In a subsequent search of Bautista's home, detectives say they found three more pistols and more cash.

State charges including weapons and drug possession were originally filed against Bautista, but those charges were eventually subsumed into the federal case. Bautista now faces federal charges of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, a charge that carries a minimum sentence of five years in prison.

Bautista was charged with second-degree murder in January 2025, but a judge found insufficient evidence to proceed to a grand jury later that year, Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney Amy Ashworth told Patch. She says that the case is still under investigation.
