RecycleFest 2016 Saturday at Manassas Transfer Station

The four-hour event allows folks to drop off household hazardous waste, electronic waste and paper documents ready for shredding.

MANASSAS, VA — As names go, this one doesn't exactly stoke the embers of excitement and anticipation: RecycleFest 2016.

Even so, it's an earth-enhancing event that coincides with America Recycles Day.

It's set for the Manassas Transfer Station at 8305 Quarry Road from 8 a.m.-noon.

Citizens are urged to drop off household hazardous waste, electronic waste and up to four boxes of paper ready to be shredded.

Last year, Manassas residents dropped off more than 123 tons of recyclable material.
