School Volunteer Guilty of Child Porn Production

David Alexander Battle II faces a sentence of at least 15 years, according to prosecutors.

A Manassas middle school volunteer was convicted Thursday of producing child pornography and related charges.

Prosecutors said David Alexander Battle II, 24, posed as a minor girl and chatted with minor boys, coercing them to send him sexually explicit images of themselves. Battler personally knew two of the boys he chatted with online.

A volunteer with the music program at Grace E. Metz Middle, Battle was convicted by a federal jury on counts of production of child pornography, attempted coercion and enticement of a minor, receipt of child pornography, and distribution of child pornography.

During a search of his home last summer, law enforcement discovered evidence of child pornography, including videos that appeared to be child pornography involving infants, according to a Justice Department statement Thursday. There was other evidence of child pornography primarily involving young boys and girls.

Battle will be sentenced on June 10 and faces a minimum penalty of 15 years in prison.
