VIRGINIA — Mid-June has arrived, and many kids are out of school for the summer. There's plenty of family fun for the whole family to enjoy this weekend around Northern Virginia and D.C.

Families will celebrate Father's Day this weekend, treating Dad to a meal or a fun day out. Some of the Father's Day happenings around the region are The Dad Games at Dave and Buster's, Father's Day BBQ Buffet at The Clubs At Quantico, Father's Day Pig Roast in Clifton, Father’s Day with Cherry Picking & Fishing Contest in Bluemont, The Family One's 2nd Annual Father's Day Basketball Game in Leesburg and Father’s Day Golf Tournament- Parent Child Family Challenge in Fairfax Station.

Celebrations are starting to happen for Juneteenth, a holiday marking the end of slavery in the U.S. Some events around the region this weekend are Vienna's Juneteenth Celebration, Fairfax City Juneteenth Celebration, Juneteenth Community Day at National Museum of African American History and Culture, Juneteenth African American History Bus Tour with Manumission Tour Company, Juneteenth Jazz with NuPop Jazz and The R&B Bar Crawl Juneteenth Weekend.
