Teen With Knife At Prince William County School Arrested: Police

Prince William County Police say a student pulled out a knife in a classroom at Colgan High School.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A student with a knife at Colgan High School was arrested and charged Wednesday, according to Prince William County Police.

The school resource officer at Colgan High School had been notified about a student with a knife around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday. According to police, a student had displayed a knife at other students in a classroom. The students reported the incident to school staff, who notified the officer.

School staff and the school resource officer took the student into custody. Police do not believe the student was making an active threat toward other students, faculty or staff.

The suspect, a 15-year-old teen boy from Woodbridge, was arrested and charged with possession of weapon on school grounds. He was taken to the Prince William County Juvenile Detention Center. A court date is pending.
