Turkey Trot in Memory of Police Officer Chris Yung Thanksgiving Morning

The race will begin and end at the Target near Route 28, where a car crashed into Officer Yung's motorcycle in 2012.

This Thanksgiving the Prince William County Police Department give thanks for the time they had with Officer Chris Yung. They honor his memory with the Chris Yung Memorial Turkey Trot 10k/5k Thanksgiving morning.

Officer Yung passed away on New Year’s Eve in 2012 in the line of duty. Yung was driving through a green light on Nokesville Road with his lights and sirens on when a woman made a left turn and crashed into his motorcycle. He died later at a local hospital.

So far, 140 people have confirmed their attendance to the Chris Yung Memorial Turkey Trot on the event’s Facebook page. The run will start and end at the Target parking lot, 9900 Sowder Village Square in Manassas, near the site of the wreck on Route 28. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.
