Unruly Customer Assaults Cop At Walmart In Manassas: Police

A customer who was roaming the aisles of a Walmart in Manassas while screaming and damaging property assaulted a responding cop: PWC Police.

MANASSAS, VA—A seemingly out-of-control customer who was roaming the aisles of a Walmart at 9401 Liberia Avenue while screaming and damaging property Sunday morning was arrested after being pepper sprayed and then Tasered by a responding officer, according to Prince William County Police.

George Warren Cummings, 64, of the 1400 block of Mountain Road in Haymarket, was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, destruction of property, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He's being held without bond.

Around 10:30 a.m., police responded to the store for a reported disorderly customer. Upon arrival, the man was found at the customer service counter near the front of the store. He refused to follow commands while being detained, was pepper sprayed and then lunged at the officer, hitting him in the upper body.

Out came the Taser, and Cummings finally was subdued after a brief struggle. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries, after which he was taken to jail.
