VFW Distributing Buddy Poppies in Memorial Day Tradition

Donations support veteran services and welfare in the Manassas area.

Provided:

Manassas Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 7589 once again this Memorial Day weekend will be distributing Buddy Poppies. The VFW began the tradition of the Buddy Poppies in 1922 just after World War One in memory of the millions who were killed around the world in that war. Post 7589 began the tradition in 1947.

The VFW and its Ladies Auxiliary use the money donated at Buddy Poppy distribution sites for veteran services and welfare in the Manassas area. The VFW Buddy Poppies are assembled by disabled, needy and aging veterans in VA Hospitals across the country.
