Virginia 2016 Primary Results: Clinton's Clear Win, Rubio's Close 2nd
Commonwealth's voters gave Clinton another decisive Southern win, but Rubio's support in Northern Virginia kept it close on GOP side.

Virginia's partisan voters finally had their say in the 2016 Presidential Primaries on Super Tuesday.
Voters helped build on Hillary Clinton's lead in the Democratic Presidential Primary, giving the candidate another Southern state win. The Associated Press and other media outlets called the state for Clinton as polls closed.
With 99 percent of precincts reporting in Virginia, Clinton had 64 percent of the vote. Sanders had 35 percent.

Super Tuesday results in other states may speak to Donald Trump's strength in the Republican Primary, but the story in Virginia is a close finish for Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida.

Rubio was showing his strength in the Washington D.C. suburbs, where swing voters frequently decide competitive statewide races. And he kept the race close in urban areas, including Richmond and Norfolk.
