VRE Fireworks Trains Return For America's 250th Birthday With July 4 Service To DC
The trains will help fireworks viewers avoid traffic over the holiday.
ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Virginia Railway Express Fireworks Trains will resume this July 4 after more than a decade, the railway service announced.
The trains provide round-trip transportation to Washington, DC, for those who want to see the capital's fireworks display. The VRE’s Fredericksburg and Manassas lines will stop at the city’s Union Station and L’Enfant Station, arriving in the District of Columbia around 5 p.m. and leaving again around 11 p.m.
More details on the service can be found here. Tickets will be available through Eventbrite starting June 1 and will cost $20 per adult and $10 per child under 12. Riders will also receive a commemorative LED sparkler, VRE says.
