MANASSAS, VA — Another year has come and gone. In Manassas and the rest of Prince William County, government facilities and offices will close to allow their workers an extra day off to start the year.

This year, New Year's Day falls on a Monday. Many government offices and other facilities will remain closed on Monday, Jan. 1 to recognize the occasion.

  • Manassas City schools: Closed on Monday, Jan. 1. Students return to class on Jan. 2.
  • Prince William County schools: Closed for winter break. Students return to classes on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
  • Prince William County courts: Closed on Monday, Jan. 1.
  • Prince William County libraries: All libraries will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 31 and Monday, Jan. 1.
  • Prince William County landfill: Closed on Monday, Jan. 1.
  • Prince William County animal shelter: Closed on Monday, Jan. 1.
