What's Open, Closed On New Year's Day 2022 In Manassas
In Prince William County and the Manassas area, the New Year's holiday changes schedules for government offices and other facilities.

MANASSAS, VA — While New Year's Day is often a day to recover from the previous night's festivities, if you do plan to head out, it's good to know how the holiday may affect the availability of services in Manassas.
New Year's Day is one of several holidays that usually affect the hours of government offices, libraries, public transportation, garbage pickup and other services in Manassas. Since New Year's Day falls on a Saturday this year, many offices are closing on Friday, Dec. 31 to provide an employees with an extra day off.

- City of Manassas government offices: Closed on Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1.
- Prince William County government offices: Closed on Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1
- Prince William County Schools: Closed for winter break. Schools re-open on Monday, Jan. 3.
- Manassas City Schools: Closed for winter break.
- Prince William County courts: The courthouse will be closed on Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1.
- Prince William County libraries: Closed on Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1.
- Prince William County landfill: Closed on Saturday, Jan. 1.
- OmniRide: There will be no OmniRide service on Saturday, Jan. 1.
- Prince William County Animal Shelter: Will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31. Closed on Saturday, Jan. 1.
- City of Manassas Trash and Recycling: There will be no change to trash collection this week.
- Department of Motor Vehicles: All DMV customer service centers will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
- Metro: On Dec. 31, Metrobus operates on a Saturday schedule, while Metrorail operates on a weekday schedule. Both services operate on a Sunday schedule on Jan. 1. Visit www.wmata.com/schedules/timetables for more information.
- VRE: The VRE will not operate on Friday, Dec. 31 or Saturday, Jan. 1.
- Post offices: Some locations may have limited hours on Dec. 31. Check with your local post office. All post offices are closed on Jan. 1.
