A Mega Millions lottery ticket sold at a Gainesville 7-Eleven is now worth $10,000 after matching several numbers in Friday's drawing.

GAINESVILLE, VA — A Mega Millions ticket sold at a Gainesville 7-Eleven won $10,000 in Friday's Mega Millions drawing, Virginia Lottery officials said.
The winning ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven at 13821 Heathcote Boulevard in Gainesville.
The ticket was one of three tickets that won $10,000 in Friday's drawing. A ticket purchased on the Virginia Lottery's website won $20,000.

Lottery officials said 405,000 Mega Millions tickets purchased in Virginia won prizes in Friday night's drawing. The jackpot winning ticket, worth $1.34 billion, was sold in Illinois.
The $10,000 winning tickets in Virginia matched four of the first five numbers and the Mega Ball number from Friday's drawing. The winning numbers were 13-36-45-57-67, and the Mega Ball number was 14.

Overall chances of winning any prize from the Mega Millions are 1 in 24. The chances of winning the jackpot are much lower — about 1 in 302.5 million. For perspective, the odds of being struck by lightning are less than 1 in 1 million, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
