Woman Accused Of Injuring Cop With Car At Manassas Walmart
A Manassas woman is facing charges after she also made a fraudulent return at a Walmart and hit a police officer with a car, officials said.
MANASSAS, VA — A woman is facing charges after authorities said she struck a police officer with her car when they attempted to apprehend her in the parking lot of a Manassas Walmart.
Brenda Castillo-Samo, 21, of Manassas, was charged on Dec. 26 with attempted malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer and hit and run following the Aug. 11 incident, Prince William County police said in a report Tuesday.
According to authorities, officers were called to the Walmart at 9401 Liberia Ave. shortly after 2 p.m. to investigate a fraudulent return. Police said a woman later identified as Castillo-Samo made a fraudulent return before leaving the store with a man who had also made a similar return.

According to police, officers attempted to talk to the man, but he ran away and got into a car driven by Castillo-Samo. When an officer attempted to stop the car, Castillo-Samo continued driving and grazed them with the vehicle as she drove out of the parking lot.
The officer suffered minor injuries, police said.

Castillo-Samo was taken into custody by Fairfax City police.
