Arrest in Fatal Shooting in Gainesville Parking Lot: Police

GAINESVILLE, VA — A suspect has been arrested in a fatal shooting Sunday in a Gainesville parking lot, Prince William County Police announced Monday night.

Bryan Christopher Yu, 33, of 22555 Windsor Locks Square in Ashburn, is charged with 1st degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He is being held without bond.

The victim, 26-year-old Linh Thi Pham of Bristow, was fatally shot in the upper body early Sunday night at a parking lot in the 7300 block of Atlas Walk Way.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m., police responded a report of a shooting at the parking lot, where the victim was found, transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

Detectives identified Yu, an acquaintance of the victim, as a potential suspect. He was arrested without incident.

It's Prince William County's 20th homicide of the year.
