Woman Who Kicked Police Officer Charged With Assault: Report

Makiyah Clark was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer for kicking a cop at a Bob Evans in Manassas, police said.

MANASSAS, VA — Prince William County police have arrested a woman, Makiya Shaneeyah Clark, for assaulting a police officer in Manassas on Saturday. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon at the Bob Evans restaurant located on Promenade Avenue, according to a police report.

Rescue personnel were called to the restaurant to assist an unconscious woman. Prince William County Police officers were called to the scene, as well, to investigate the incident. Rescue personnel were already assisting the woman, who police later identified as Clark, when police arrived.

While rescue personnel were tending to her, Clark regained consciousness. She then attempted to kick the attending first responders, according to the Prince William County Police Department. At this point, the officers on scene attempted to intervene.

When the officers tried to intervene, Clark kicked one officer, according to the police report. She was then taken into custody and transported to a nearby hospital. After she was released from the hospital, Clark was arrested.

The officer did not report any serious injuries. Clark was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and is being held without bond. Her court date is pending.
