Worker Electrocuted At NOVEC Station In Manassas: Authorities

First responders rescued a man who was electrocuted 16 feet in the air while working on a NOVEC substation in Manassas on Tuesday.

MANASSAS, VA — A worker was electrocuted at a NOVEC substation in Manassas on Tuesday afternoon, the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue said.

Authorities have not provided any information on his condition. A helicopter flew him to a regional medical center on Tuesday.

The fire department said the electrocution, which occurred in the 9300 block of Godwin Drive, was an accident. The man was working on equipment around 4:30 p.m. when he was electrocuted.

First responders rescued the man, who was about 16 feet in the air on a manlift, according to the fire department. They provided first aid until a helicopter arrived to take him for evaluation.
