World War One Commemoration

Prince
William County and the City of Manassas are pleased to invite the public to attend
a free event at the Old Manassas Courthouse to commemorate the 100th
anniversary of the beginning of World War One.



At
7:00 p.m. on Monday July 28th, the event “The Lamps Are Going Out All Over Europe”: Prince William County &
Manassas Remembers the Great War
will take place on the second floor of the
Old Manassas Courthouse.



There
will be special remarks, a brief talk on the impact of World War One, and a
short ceremony and wreath laying to honor the 26 Prince William County and
Manassas war dead listed on the memorial on the courthouse lawn. The Manassas
Museum will have a small display exhibiting artifacts from the time period.
