Officials say they don't belong on the W&OD Trail (wtop.com) β If you walk, run, or ride the W&OD Trail near McLean, local police and NOVA Parks are stepping up outreach about which e-bikes are allowed and how fast is too fast. Officers recently handed out safety gear and guidance, stressing that only lower-powered Class 1 and 2 e-bikes belong on the trail and urging residents to report dangerous riding.

Public Safety - Week of September 4, 2026 (fairfaxtimes.com) β Fairfax County police have charged a daycare worker after two 2-year-old boys were allegedly assaulted at Faz Creative Education Learning Center on Old Meadow Road in McLean, an incident local parents will want to know about. The broader public-safety roundup also covers vandalism in Lorton, a Lincolnia burglary, a construction rescue, a classified-leaks guilty plea, a major drug seizure at Dulles, Virginia's new digital IDs in Apple Wallet, and VDOT's Labor Day travel guidance.
