2. McLean football losses first district match up of the year (thehighlandernews.com) — McLean High's football team fell to Washington-Liberty 17-7, dropping the Highlanders to 0-2 despite a strong defensive effort and a promising touchdown drive before halftime. Coaches and players are already focused on adjustments as they prepare to host the 2-0 Falls Church Jaguars next week, hoping to turn things around with a more balanced offense and disciplined run defense.
3. E-bikes can hit 50 mph. Officials say they don't belong on the W&OD Trail (wtop.com) — If you walk, run, or ride the W&OD Trail in McLean, police and NOVA Parks are stepping up education about which e-bikes are allowed and how fast they should go. Officers recently handed out safety gear and guidance locally, with more regional sessions planned to keep high-speed electric devices from endangering families, runners, and cyclists sharing the trail.

Mars Impact Fund dedicates $13 million to support global communities (petfoodprocessing.net) — From its McLean headquarters, Mars has committed more than $13 million through its Mars Impact Fund to support global community projects, youth programs, and animal health initiatives.
