• Mount Vernon Teens Can Apply for $1,000 Mental-Health Project Grants (thezebra.org) — Mount Vernon teens have just one week left to apply for up to $1,000 in Fairfax County mini-grants to launch their own mental-health and anti-stigma projects. Earlier grants funded Mount Vernon High's Portable Comfort Classroom and Mindfulness Spot, showing how student-led ideas can create real wellness spaces in local schools. Eligible youth groups must submit concise, youth-driven proposals by Sept. 14.
