19 Violations At Old Town Alexandria Restaurant

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The City of Alexandria regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from recent inspections in the last weeks of July. Among the violations were 19 violations at Il Porto. Some of the violations were corrected during the inspection. Also included are restaurants with no violations.

violations: employee handling food without gloves, uncovered food, foods measured at improper temperatures (all corrected), food stored on/near floor, raw/undercooked foods on menu without disclosure, grease accumulation on wall, ceiling near fryer, display refrigerator in need of cleaning, employee items stored near food, flying bugs inside (all 12 violations not included)
