2022 Election: New Early Voting Location To Open In Alexandria

As voters cast their ballots in the November 2022 elections, an additional early voting location is preparing to open in Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — As Alexandria voters prepare to cast a ballot in the November congressional midterm election, an additional early voting location will be open.

The Alexandria Office of Voter Registration and Elections will open the Charles E. Beatley, Jr. Central Library early voting location at 5005 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA, on Friday. That joins the Office of Voter Registration and Elections at 132 N. Royal St., Suite 100 Alexandria, VA, which has been an early voting location since Sept. 23. The Office of Voter Registration and Elections will also offer extended hours in the coming days.

An acceptable form of identification is required for in-person voting in Virginia.

The only election for City of Alexandria voters on Nov. 8 will be the 8th congressional district race between Rep. Don Beyer (D-Alexandria), Republican challenger Karina Lipsman and Independent Teddy Fikre. Here is a sample ballot in the City of Alexandria.

Voters who received a mail-in ballot have the choice to return their completed ballot at drop boxes during early voting hours at Beatley Central Library (5005 Duke Street). A 24/7 secure drop box is also available outside the Office of Voter Registration and Elections, as well as at all polling places from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 8.

Oct. 17 was the deadline for voter registration and updating a voter's address. Voters who do not update their registration before the Oct. 17 deadline can cast a provisional ballot on Election Day.

If you are voting on Election Day, Nov. 8, you can visit your assigned polling place with an acceptable form of identification from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. To check your polling place, visit vote.elections.virginia.gov.
