70-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies After Alexandria Hit-And-Run
Alexandria Police say a man died more than a week after an injury from a hit-and-run.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria Police say a May 9 hit-and-run turned fatal after the pedestrian died from injuries last Saturday.
Police had responded to a man lying in the street at North Jordan Street and Taney Avenue around 9:20 p.m. on May 9. The 70-year-old man, who had an injury on the back of his head, said he was hit by a car. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Since being hospitalized, the man's condition worsened. He died on May 18. Police identified him as James Thomson, 70, of Alexandria.

The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
