Alexandria Is On Allstate's 'Best Drivers' List

Alexandria was the only Northern Virginia city ranked on the insurance company's list.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Alexandria ranked 190th on the top 200 of this year's list of America's Best Drivers. The Allstate insurance rankings reveal which towns are the least likely to have collisions.

The report took a look at claims data by Allstate-insured drivers in the country's 200 largest cities, including property damage claims submitted between January 2014 and December 2015. Kansas City came in at No. 1 on the list, while Boston ranked last.

Alexandria has an average 6.2 years between claims (with a national average of 10 years) and 22.1 hard-braking events per 1,000 miles (with a national average of 19).

Richmond is the 80th safest city. It has an average 9 years between claims and 17.5 hard-braking events per 1,000 miles.

Norfolk is the 122nd safest city. It has an average 8.2 years between claims and 15.5 hard-braking events per 1,000 miles.

Virginia Beach is the 61st safest city. It has an average 9.4 years between claims and 16.3 hard-braking events per 1,000 miles.
