Alexandria Beautification Commission Seeks Nominations for 2016 Alexandria Beautification Awards

The City of Alexandria's Beautification Commission is accepting nominations for the 2016 Alexandria Beautification Awards. The awards program recognizes City residents, organizations, and businesses for the efforts in contributing to the beautification of City neighborhoods and public vistas with landscaping and aesthetic design. Nominations must be received by Friday, May 27. Nomination forms are available at alexandriava.gov/beautification.

The 2016 Beautification Awards will be given in six categories: Excellence in Architecture, Excellence in Sustainable Design, Green Practices in Beautification, Community Beautification, Residential Beautification, and Commercial Beautification. Award winners will be recognized at the 2016 Beautification Award Ceremony this September.

The Alexandria Beautification Commission is a volunteer board with members nominated and approved by City Council for two-year terms. The Commission represents residents' values in City beautification matters and coordinates projects to encourage and achieve beautification.
