Alexandria, DC Water Taxi Service Returns In March
The water taxi will add more daily frequencies and cover home games at Nationals Park and Audi Field.

Alexandria-based Potomac Riverboat Company will start water taxi service for the 2019 season on Friday, March 1.
The water taxi will increase its daily frequencies to meet expected demand. Over 250,000 used the water taxi last year, and the company expects more will use this form of transportation. With the summer Metrorail shutdown coming up in Alexandria, the water taxi will aim to be an alternative for DC-bound visitors.
"Last year, we achieved our best-ever performance to date, and we expect to build on this for 2019 as increasing numbers of travelers enjoy the Potomac Water Taxi service," said Kenneth Svendsen, CEO of Entertainment Cruises, which acquired Potomac Riverboat Company in 2016. "With our ultra-modern, recently expanded fleet, we will be boosting capacity to offer greater choice and comfort to those seeking a reliable and efficient travel experience to commute or explore."

The company will continue to operate sightseeing tours highlighting DC landmarks. These tours operate daily with departures from The Wharf, Georgetown and Alexandria. Cruises to Mount Vernon will resume on April 6 with round-trip $50 tickets including admission to the estate. This year, the baseball-soccer boat will cover all home games at Nationals Park and Audi Field, WTOP reported.
