Alexandria Election 2015: A New Face on City Council
Election results for Senate of Virginia, Virginia House of Delegates, Alexandria Mayor, City Council, School Board.

Alexandria voters headed to the polls Tuesday and elected a new mayor and re-elected five City Council members, elected one new City Council member and also voted for Senate of Virginia, House of Delegates and School Board.

The election saw about a 26 percent turnout. Leider said that about 40 to 50 ballots had been set aside Tuesday; those were from people who said they had registered at the DMV, but for some reason didn’t get registered. She said they will likely get them straightened out during the canvass after the election. The Alexandria elections office also received a few complaints about overly exuberant campaigners outside the polls, she noted.

- Justin M. Wilson (Democrat): 15,815 or 11.68 percent
- John Taylor Chapman (Democrat): 15,402 or 11.38 percent
- Paul C. Smedberg (Democrat): 14,880 or 10.99 percent
- Redella S. “Del” Pepper (Democrat): 14,696 or 10.85 percent
- Timothy Lovain (Democrat): 14,573 or 10.76 percent
- Willie F. Bailey Sr. (Democrat): 13,482 or 9.96 percent

- John R. “Bob” Wood (Republican): 11,532 or 8.52 percent
- Monique Miles (Republican): 11,260 or 8.32 percent
- Fernando M. Torrez (Republican): 9,349 or 6.91 percent
