Alexandria Film Festival Returns With Virtual, In Person Events In 2022
The 16th annual Alexandria Film Festival will feature over 50 films, including premieres, regional films and meet the filmmaker events.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Alexandria Film Festival will return for a 16th year with a mix of virtual and in-person events from Friday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 27.
The annual festival draws movie lovers for film screenings, film showcases and meet the filmmaker events. Over 50 films will be shown in person, and close to 30 directors, producers and actors will join 25 meet the filmmaker question and answer events. Films include 14 premieres, as well as nationally-recognized films that had premiered at Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals.
The in-person festivities from Nov. 11 to 13 focus on showcases, a group of at least two films centered on a theme. One of the returning favorites is the free Burke & Herbert Bank Family Showcase, which shows films about and made by young people. The Salute to Service Members Showcase is a nod to Veterans Day and will be offered free to active and retired military service members.
