Alexandria Flash Flood Warning: Live Updates
A flash flood warning has been issued for Alexandria. Follow along for live updates on the storm.

ALEXANDRIA, VA ā As heavy showers hit the area, the City of Alexandria is under a flash flood warning until 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 28. A few inches of rain is already drenching the area, and a few more could be on the way.
The National Weather Service says the county could receive another 2 inches of precipitation as storm move through the area. A flash flood watch has also been issued from 2 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday. Locations that may experience flooding include Alexandria, Arlington County, Fairfax County and the City of Falls Church.
Northern Virginia drivers are likely to face difficult travel due to persistent downpours, excess water on the road and poor visibility, according to AccuWeather. Alexandria Police urge residents to not drive or walk through flooded areas.

10 a.m. - Falls Church recorded over five inches of rain.
6 p.m. - In Fairfax County, cars are being relocated to the Huntington Metro due to heavy flooding on Fenwick Drive and Arlington Terrace.
5:30 p.m. - Don't expect to let the flash flooding let up this evening in Alexandria, the National Weather Service cautions.

5 p.m. - Huntington is seeing significant flooding, and residents are urged to move their cars to higher elevations.
Flooding is certainly taking its toll near a stream in Arlington.
