Alexandria To Get New App For Metered Parking Payments
The Pango system won't be available in Alexandria after August.

Alexandria will switch to a new metered parking app beginning Sept. 1. ParkMobile allows customers to pay by phone for metered parking and is used in Arlington County, DC, Montgomery County Md. and Prince George's County, Md.
Customers will pay the same parking fee of $1.75 per hour plus a 45-cents convenience fee. After downloading the free app, customers must create an account with payment details and up to five vehicles.
When parking at a meter, drivers should look for the zone number on ParkMobile signs and enter it into the app. The app also shows zone numbers on a map and suggests the closest zones.

Customers can choose a time up to posted time limit for the parking location. If a customer leaves before the selected amount of time expired, the parking session may be stopped early and only charge for the time parked there. This feature is available for ParkMobile users in Alexandria and Montgomery County, Md. only.
Customers will still have the option to pay by coin or credit card at pay stations and meters or call a toll-free number. Pango, the current system used for metered parking payments, will be gone in Alexandria after Aug. 31.
