Alexandria Government Offices Closed, Services Impacted July 3
The city of Alexandria has released its schedule for various offices and services for the week leading up to the Fourth of July.
ALEXANDRIA, VA – The city of Alexandria has released its schedule for various offices and services for the week leading up to the Fourth of July. Most notably, all government offices will be closed on July 3.
Regularly-scheduled collection services including refuse, recycling, metal and bulk will happen on their normal schedules for Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2. Yard waste is only collected on Fridays but will not be collected on Friday, July 3. Curbside yard waste collection will resume the following week on Friday, July 10.

A number of health facilities will be closed on July 3. Those facilities include: the Alexandria Health Department, the Flora Krause Casey Health Center and the Teen Wellness Center at T.C. William High School.
The Vola Lawson Animal Shelter will be open on July 3 by appointment only. It will be closed on July 4. In the case of an emergency, call 703-746-4444.

All city museums and libraries remain closed to the public until further notice, in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
Parking & transit
The Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces, residential permit parking districts and other areas with posted parking time limits on July 3 and 4. The city's impound lot will be closed on July 3.
On July 3, regular DASH bus service will operate on a Sunday schedule. The free King Street Trolley remains suspended until further notice.
Recreation
All recreation and nature centers will be closed on July 3 and 4, including Chinquapin Park Recreation Center & Aquatics Facility. The Torpedo Factory Art Center will be open with limited capacity on July 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will be closed on July 4.
Old Town Pool will be open for ticketed swimming on July 3 from noon to 7 p.m. and on July 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Advance reservation is required for ticketed entry. Reservations for July 3 and 4 will be available at 9 a.m. on June 25.
