Alexandria Irish Festival Promises Food And Fun
A pipe band, Irish dance and food vendors are among the festivities at the annual festival.
Aside from the annual Alexandria St. Patrick's Day Parade in March, the other major event celebrating the Irish is the Alexandria Irish Festival. This year's festival will be held on Aug. 25 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Waterfront Park, 1A Prince Street.
The family-friendly event offers Irish entertainment like music and dance performances, craft vendors and food. Attendance is free, and all are welcome.
The event typically draws thousands to the Alexandria waterfront dressed in their Irish best. The festival happens rain or shine.
