ALEXANDRIA, VA — A cadet from T.C. Williams' Junior Reserve Officer Training (JROTC) Program attended the Presidential State of the Union Address Tuesday. Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine invited Nicole Rosario-Flores as his guest to President Trump's address, which happened at 9 p.m. in the House chamber.

"I am thrilled and honored to be Senator Tim Kaine's guest at the State of the Union Address," said Rosario-Flores. "I am equally grateful for the JROTC program at T.C. Williams High School that is truly one of a kind, has opened doors for me and given me the opportunity to attend such an important event as this one."

Kaine chose Rosario-Flores as his guest after speaking with JROTC cadets at T.C. Williams High School on Jan. 10. The discussion focused on Congress's role in deciding whether the U.S. goes to war and his proposed war powers resolution aimed at preventing war with Iran.
