Alexandria Man Charged In Fairfax County Shooting That Injured 1

Fairfax County police said the shooting occurred Feb. 6 in the 7600 block of Cork Glen Way.

WEST SPRINGFIELD, VA — A man is facing multiple charges in connection with a shooting in West Springfield that left another man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Thomas Koroma, 20, of Alexandria, was arrested on Feb. 6 on unrelated charges and was later linked to the shooting that occurred the same day in the 7600 block of Cork Glen Way, Fairfax County police said in a news release.

Following the shooting, police responded to the location, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Through an investigation, detectives determined the victim arrived at home while the residence was being burglarized. When the victim opened the door, police said he was shot by one of the intruders. The suspects then exited the residence through the rear door and fled the scene.

On Feb. 7, detectives identified a 2014 white Infiniti Q50 used in the shooting. According to police, the car was registered to Koroma, who had been taken into custody the night before on unrelated firearm and drug charges.

According to police, detectives reviewed recovered surveillance footage that linked Koroma to the Springfield shooting. Detectives went to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where Koroma was being held, to serve him with warrants in connection with the shooting.

Koroma is facing several new charges, including malicious wounding, armed burglary and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He remains held without bond.
