Alexandria Man Charged In Groveton Shooting
An Alexandria man has been charged in connection with a shooting that seriously injured a man in Groveton Tuesday night.
ALEXANDRIA, VA – Rusbel Alberto Argueta, 19, of Alexandria, has been identified as the suspect arrested after Tuesday night’s shooting in the Groveton area, Fairfax County police announced Thursday.
One man was seriously injured in the shooting that occurred around 7:55 p.m. Tuesday on the 7200 block of Fairchild Drive, police say. Argueta was arrested shortly after, as was a third man who police say was involved. The third man was charged with being drunk in public. Police say they recovered a firearm near the scene.
Argueta is charged with malicious wounding, using a firearm in commission of a felony and discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of an elementary school. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and is being held on no bond. His first hearing is set for September 29.
