Alexandria Man Killed In DC Shooting

An Alexandria man was killed in a shooting in Washington, DC, Sunday morning.

ALEXANDRIA, VA – A 30-year-old Alexandria man was shot and killed in Southeast Washington, DC, on Sunday, according to the capital’s Metropolitan Police Department.

Washington’s MPD reports that officers found Andre Herdon, 30, of Alexandria, unconscious in a parking lot on the 5300 block of E Street SE when they responded to calls about a shooting at around 3:20 a.m. Herndon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers say they also found another man suffering from a gunshot wound when they searched the area. His injuries were not life-threatening, and he was taken to a local hospital.

Police have not published information about any suspects.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for a homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
