Alexandria Mayor, All City Council Members To Hold Town Hall

All City Council members and the mayor will hold a town meeting to discuss key issues and take questions from the community.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Whether residents have concerns about crime, pedestrian safety or affordable housing, residents can hear from Alexandria city officials at an upcoming town hall.

Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson and all City Council members will participate in a town hall from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24 at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center, 4850 Mark Center Dr., Alexandria, VA.

At the town hall, officials will provide updates on upcoming projects and initiatives in the city and will take questions from residents. There will be Spanish, Amharic, and Arabic interpretation services available. Online registration is recommended to attend.

City Council previously adopted six priorities to guide policy and budget decisions: recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, provide diverse housing opportunities, define the city's community engagement approach, support youth and families, foster economic development, and develop a compensation philosophy. City Manager James Parajon directs city departments to each develop a plan for each City Council priority, and progress updates on the priorities are provided four times per year.
