Alexandria Primary 2018: How Each Precinct Voted For Mayor

The winner, Vice Mayor Justin Wilson, dominated a few particular precincts around the city.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Alexandria voters chose Vice Justin Wilson as the Democratic mayoral nominee over Mayor Allison Silberberg on Tuesday, June 12. The latest count with all precincts reporting showed Wilson got 52.91 percent of the vote citywide. As Alexandria is a largely Democratic city, Wilson will presumingly go on to become mayor in November's general election.

Initial data shows high voter turnout—nearly 23 percent citywide. Turnout for the June 2015 Democratic primaries for mayor and city council was 16.32 percent. Citywide turnout for the 2015 general election was 34.24 percent.

So how did each precinct vote? Wilson dominated the votes at Del Ray precincts, drawing over 70 percent of votes at the Mount Vernon Recreation Center precinct. Silberberg performed well in some Old Town precincts such as City Hall and had a slight advantage in absentee voting.
