Alexandria Public Schools Calendar For 2024-25: Key Dates To Know

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Summer is almost over for Alexandria students. The first day of school in Alexandria City Public Schools is Monday, Aug. 19. The only exception to is Samuel Tucker Elementary School, which runs on a different calendar and had its first day on July 22.

According to the school district, families should complete back-to-school forms that will be available through PowerSchool starting Aug. 14. Completed forms are due by Sept. 30. Families are encouraged to sign up for the ParentSquare app for communicating with ACPS during the school year. Those attending select schools will have to apply for free or reduced price meals.

• Oct. 14: Indigenous Peoples Day/professional development day, no school for students

• Nov. 5: Election Day/Teacher work day, no school for students
