ALEXANDRIA, VA -- What’s the best place to live in Virginia? That depends on who you ask, but according to a new set of rankings released by Niche.com, Alexandria is the 34th best place to live in the state.
The ranking places Alexandria below a number of Northern Virginia neighbors, including number one ranked Arlington. A current resident said Alexandria is a good place to live, although the cost of living is high. "Old Town Alexandria is a beautiful and historic town with many fine dining and expensive store fronts. It's an affluent area. It can be hard to afford to live here. But if you can, it's a wonderful place to be!" the resident said.
The ranking looked at several factors, such as public schools, a good family environment, crime and safety, diversity and housing.
