Alexandria Restaurant Partners Will Reopen 2 Concepts

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria Restaurant Partners will reopen two of its restaurant concepts, Riverside Taco Company and Vola’s Dockside Grill, on May 5. ARP released a statement saying the openings will allow more staff to go back to work. The restaurants will have takeout and delivery options available.

The health crisis had postponed the April 4 opening of Riverside Taco Company, a seasonal concept operating out of an airstream trailer outside the Torpedo Factory Art Center. All ARP restaurants except Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap and Mia’s Italian Kitchen are closed in light of the new coronavirus crisis. The Majestic's menu is operating out of Mia's Italian Kitchen.

Vola’s Dockside Grill will have a limited menu. Diners can choose from four starters (crab dip, Chesapeake Bay chowder, peel and eat shrimp and littleneck steamers); two salads (Vola’s chopped salad and mango-spinach salad); three entrees (crispy fried chicken, crab cakes and fish and chips); four sandwiches (lobster roll, fried chicken and crab cake sandwich); and key lime pie for dessert. Vola’s Marketplace will sell family-style portions of Chesapeake chowder, coleslaw, ceviche, shrimp salad and whole key lime pies.

Riverside Taco Company will offer three different tacos (beef alambre, Chicken pipian and blackened fish tacos, three bowls (Riverside, chicken fajita and steak fajita) and sides (red rice, frijoles rojos and chips with guacamole or salsa. Family-style chicken or steak fajitas are available with red rice and frijoles rojos to feed four people.

The restaurants will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Takeout and delivery ordering for both Vola's and Riverside Taco will be available at volasdockside.com. Takeout is also available by calling 703-935-8890.

ARP has been involved in a number of community initiatives during the coronavirus crisis. It is one of the participating restaurant partners in Feed the Fight ALX, which delivers meals to health care workers. ARP has also started a GoFundMe page to fund meals for guests at Carpenter's Shelter.

Restaurants must operate with takeout and delivery only through at least May 8 under Gov. Ralph Northam's order. During the closures of Vola's Dockside Grill, Palette 22, The Majestic and Joe Theismann's Restaurant, 50 percent of gift card sales go to an employee relief fund. Any purchase of $25 or more gets a 20 percent bonus gift card.
